SOREL

This is Sorel’s second time at the Rescue Center.  He is 4 years old and weighs 21 pounds.  He age is correct as he has been following in the clinic since he was a newborn baby.  He has 4 living siblings. 

BERGENALIE

She is 30 months old and weighs 19 pounds.  This is her first time with kwashiorkor.  She has 1 sibling at home.

SENGENOR

He is 2 years old and weighs 27 pounds.  This is his 2nd time with kwashiorkor and it is a  very severe case.   He has one other sibling at home that is a new born. 

LUSTIN

This cutie is 4 years old.  He weighs 33 pounds pounds.  This is his 1st time with kwashiorkor. He has 3 other siblings at home.  His dad left their house at 11pm and walked through the night down the mountain paths.  They then took a taxi to get to the clinic.  They arrived the next morning around 10am.

CHRISTELLINE

Her mother died of AIDS last month shortly after her birth.  Last week she did not have kwashiorkor and weighed 4 pounds 8 ounces.  This week she weighs 6 pounds 10 ounces and has kwashiorkor.  She is in the care of her grandma.  Grandma does not believe that Christelline’s mom died of AIDS.  She believes something different.  Christelline has a very bad fungal infection and diaper rash.  It was so bad that it was bleeding in many places.
