Real Hope for Haiti is very grateful for all of our friends and supporters that faithfully read this blog and share it with others. In some ways, we very much feel as though we share life with you in that we all have a passion for God and the Haitian people.
In many ways, our readers know us very well. Those of you who have visited Cazale know us even better. (By the way, if you have visited Haiti, please consider writing a review of our organization on Great Non Profits). But however well you think you know us, I’m sure there are idiosyncrasies, quirks, and odd tidbits of information about us that would absolutely entertain you and help you to get to know the RHFH staff missionaries even better.
So, here is your chance to ask us any question about any topic you would like.
Questions about our childhood, life in Haiti, favorite things, best memories, biggest challenges…anything.
It can be funny or serious or somewhere in between. You can ask a general question or a question to a specific person.
RHFH staff missionaries and families will be answering these questions. These people include Zach, Lorraine, Charles, Lori, Enoch, Licia, Carmelo, Henley, Trey, Ameyah (although Ameyah’s answers might be somewhat limited), Brennon, Allison, Lesley, Briana, Meredith, and Kristin.

November 14, 2012 at 9:14 amI love your blog and pray for you all the time. I’ve been to Haiti 3 times (I was just there 3 weeks ago) and have a million questions but will try to only ask ONE. 🙂
What would you say is the biggest challenge to living and doing work in Haiti (I’m sure there are more than one)…but is it the on and off electricity (maybe this isn’t an issue for you) the heat :), lack of resources (if so what are they). Etc…
Also- does your family speak Creole at home at night or English?

November 17, 2012 at 2:55 pmSome of the questions I have are a little different so I hope they are okay to ask. When you’ve worked with a child who has suffered from kwashiorkor and they look like they are really getting stronger and healthier but then they die, is there a common reason? Are their immune systems weak, or do they have some sort of internal consequences from the kwashiorkor? Or are the reasons as varied as the children’s personalities?
Another thing I have wondered about is this: In the US there are more and more kids with peanut allergies but around the world kids lives are being saved with Ready-to-Use-Therapeutic Foods like medika mamba. do you have any theories as to why it can save so many lives and yet here we have classrooms and schools that are “peanut free”?
And now on the lighter side, I am assuming that people have brought you things to thank you for all your work and help. What are some of the “gifts” you’ve been given that those us in the US would be surprised by?
