RC news and help with kids with cholera

Anice has been with us for several months now.  He tested positive for cholera this AM.  He is not doing well today. Will you remember him in your prayers today?

Alex has had some TLC from some volunteers that have been visiting RHFH.  He is slowly getting better and beginning to be a happy little guy.

Loner had a rough week.  He is still on and IV and a feeding tube.  Will you continue to pray for him?

Wilnot has been passing a lot of worms this past week.  He is very sick and has been on an IV for about 1 week now.

Nernel is refusing to eat or drink anything.  He has had a feeding tube down for a few weeks now.  He is beginning to drink some milk and eat just a little bit of food eachday.

This is Kervenson.   He is 2o months old and weighs 16 pounds.  He has 3 other siblings that live at home.  This is his first time with kwashiorkor. Both his parents came with him when he was admitted and were very worried about him.

This is Edline.  She is 2.5 years old and weighs 26 pounds.  She has 2 siblings at home and her mom is expecting another child.  This is her first time with kwashiorkor.

This is Orlando.  He is 2 years old and weighs 15 pounds.  He was just in the cholera house this past week. ( he is in the quarantine cholera room)  This is his first time with kwashiorkor.  He has 9 living siblings at home.  There have been 5 siblings that have died-4 from kwashiorkor and 1 from a bad burn.

This is Chrisna.  She is 19 months old and weighs 19 pounds.  Her mom become pregnant and decided not to continue to breast feed her.  Mom could not afford to purchase milk for her and over the course of several months she began losing weight and developed kwashiorkor.  She is an only child.

  • With the new children listed above we currently have 28 children on the medika mamba program.
  • We want to thank each of your that continually pray for us and RHFH.  We feel your prayers each and every day.  We get tired many days and an encouraging comment or email helps us so much.  Thank you for that 🙂
  • We currently have 9 children that are in the cholera quarantine room.  We have had to hire extra staff for this short term need.  Each child stays in quarantine for 15 days after being released from the cholera house.  They stay here before they return to the normal RC activities and other kids.  We have hired 6 staff members for this need.  We are needing $1176 help pay their salary to care for these kids that are recovering.  If you would like to make a donation towards this need, please use the paypal button in the upper right hand corner, or send it into our home address, RHFH, P.O. Box 23, Elwood, IN 46036

Hi, I just wanted you to know that I am praying for you. I found your blog from another Haiti blog I was reading, and I was excited to see you guys were at IWU part of the same time my husband and I were (1994-1998). I think what you are doing is beautiful.
