Lots of sick kids needing your prayers

Lides has been with us for several weeks.  He was recovering here so we could watch him and give medication.  He is doing much better and returned home this week.  His parents were very happy to be able to take him home.

  Dejaline is 8 months old and weighs 16 pounds.  He is in the beginning stages of kwashiorkor.  His mom died 6 months ago of cholera.  He has 1 living sibling and 2 that have died of fever and diar. (currently on the medika mamba program)

 Calinedja was admitted this week.  She is 2 years old and weighed 23 pounds.  She was very sick and had kwashiorkor.  She was having fevers and some other complications and died Sunday morning.

  Lorvenson is 2 years old and weighs 15 pounds.  He has some development issues as well.  (currently on the medika mamba program)

  Monica is 29 months old and weighs 18 pounds.  She had a 104 fever when admitted.  We have been treating the fever and trying to get her to eat and drink.

 Sondy is a few months old.  He had been having diar for several days and was not very responsive when admitted.  An IV was started and meds were given.  He and his mama stayed with us for a few days.  Once he recovered and was hydrated they returned home.

 Williona & Willony are twins.  Their parents left their house at 3am and arrived at our clinic at 4pm that day.  They traveled from a village called Fond Baptiste.  They have never been to our village before but came to find help for their children.  They have one child that has died and one other living child.  They were very loving parent and were generally concerned for their kids. The twins are 2 years old.

  Williona was admitted with a 102.7 temp.  She was very weak when she arrived.  She weighs 14 1/2 pounds.

Williony was admitted with a 102.3 temp.  He also had diar and vomiting.  He has the beginning signs of kwashiorkor.

 Dr Jen and Paul got IV’s started and began giving meds to them right away.  They are still very weak and both having feeding tubes down as they do not want to eat or drink much.

Chrimailove came in on Saturday.  She is 6 weeks old.  She started developing a serious skin problem 4 days ago.  Please pray for her.  Her mom, grandma and aunt are currently staying with us for her treatment.

We had a major accident come in Saturday afternoon.  So bad that I do not feel like I can even post the pics.  A man was working in his garden on the side of a mountain and a rock fell down and smashed his face.  We did our best to get him stable and send him into Doctors without Borders to be repaired.  He jaw was broken in several places and he was in bad shape.

At the same time this little baby came in.  It was 6 days old and had not pooed or peed since birth.  They parent had never been to town before.  They had never traveled on a moto or vehicle.  They were refused at Doctors without Borders and sent to another hospital.  The child was admitted but no help was offered by a doctor.  The baby died that evening.

Psalm 142:3

The Message (MSG)  3-7 “As I sink in despair, my spirit ebbing away,
      you know how I’m feeling,
   Know the danger I’m in,
      the traps hidden in my path.
   Look right, look left—
      there’s not a soul who cares what happens!
   I’m up against it, with no exit—
      bereft, left alone.
   I cry out, God, call out:
      ‘You’re my last chance, my only hope for life!’
   Oh listen, please listen;
      I’ve never been this low.
   Rescue me from those who are hunting me down;
      I’m no match for them.
   Get me out of this dungeon
      so I can thank you in public.
   Your people will form a circle around me
      and you’ll bring me showers of blessing!”

    Licia, thank you for thanking Him in public. How I wish I could circle you with my arms this morning, but I am praying that the Lord would shower you with blessings–even as He tells you He is near. May the peace of Christ guard your heart and mind today!
