End of the year report for food boxes

If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.”
– Mother Teresa

 Believing the problem is to big is not an option.  Doing nothing is not an option.  Doing something with what you have is the answer.  If we look and the HUGE problem we will get discouraged and do nothing.  NOT good.  We do what we can with what we have.  God takes care of the rest.  Don’t believe it?  Come spend a few weeks at RHFH.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In 2004 a grandma came to me with these four children.  They are cousins, the children of two sisters.  All the mothers and fathers of these kids have died of HIV.  The grandma and grandpa were trying to care for them.  The grandpa worked in a garden and the grandma tried her best to care for these kids.  All she asked me for was a little food to feed them.  This was the beginning of the food box program.
Love a Child provides us with 100 boxes of rice packs from Feed my Starving Children each month.
We use these rice packets 6 days a week for the children in the Rescue Center. We use what is left over for the food box program.  This covers 1/2 of the month for the program.
We are able to purchase rice for the rest of the month by those of you that donate each month to RHFH.  Many of you specifically donate for this program.
 These beautiful people come twice a month to receive a box of food.
Each and every time we are getting these boxes ready, God provides.  We always have extra items that we are able to share with them- protien powder, canned chicken, spaghetti, water, juice, oil, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap etc.  Whatever extra we have we give away.  We have learned that GOD WILL ALWAYS PROVIDE!
We enjoy having visitors help with the distribution of these boxes. 🙂
 We have began adding those that follow in the clinic for HIV and TB.  We have an employee that visits them each day.  He makes sure they take their medications and sees if they have any needs.
 We want to thank each of you that give to RHFH and especially those that give towards this program.  It is making a difference in the little village of Cazale. We currently are able to provide food boxes for 177 families.  It may not seem like a lot, but to each of these 177 families it is making a huge difference for them.
 Psalm 68:5(NIV)
5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
   is God in his holy dwelling.
 Isaiah 58:7 (NIV)
 7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry
   and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe them,
   and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
