Banan ak pikliz, fried bananas with spicy slaw, is a favorite food in Cazale. It’s delicious!

First the bananas are cut into pieces and fried just a bit, to soften them.

Next the fried pieces are removed from the oil…

…. and smashed in a little press.

The flattened banana is fried again, this time to perfection.

And the results are very satisfying! They can be eaten simply, or topped with spicy slaw made with cabbage and/or onion, and carrot.
