Pray for Our New Chaplains

Last fall, our chaplain, Walter, made the difficult decision to relocate to Brazil. This left a void in an important integral part of our life and ministry. Real Hope for Haiti functions to share hope for this life and the life to come. There is no hope apart from Christ, and so, we want our light to shine bright. We are thankful for trained and dedicated staff that is relentless in efforts to serve those in our community. We are grateful for God’s Provision through His people allowing us to have the medications, food, and resources we need to supply and staff the Clinic, CTC, and Rescue Center. This meets incredible needs. Preserving lives and families is important work, but our ultimate goal is to boldly proclaim the liberating Gospel of Jesus Christ. True healing and deliverance and restoration is found in Christ alone and we want to make every effort to clearly communicate that and point people to the source of all strength and hope, Jesus Christ.

This is why having a chaplaincy program is to vital to the impact of Real Hope for Haiti. Many of our patients come to us deeply devastated and discouraged. We want to be used of God to meet these people and their needs in some of the darkest and lowest times of their lives. It is essential that we have staff specifically dedicated to this task. We have had a chaplain at RHFH for several years, and we are using this opportunity to expand this ministry beyond the clinic to the Rescue Center, CTC, and the community at large. Here are the men participating in a three month paid apprenticeship with us. Upon completion of their apprenticeship, we are hoping to add them as full time staff.

Please pray for Jura, Espeson, Boursiquot & Mathurin as the serve with Real Hope for Haiti.

Specific ways you can pray for them:

  • Pray they would treasure Christ above all things and they would consistently invest in their relationship with Christ so that they will be able to bear fruit for Him.
  • Pray they would have a genuine affection for those they encounter, able to empathize and encourage those hurting and in need.
  • Pray God would use them to pray for and build up the RHFH who endures stress and loss as a result of the difficult work we engage in.
  • Pray they would have a clear voice to share the Word of God and its life giving message.
  • Pray they would be effective listeners, sensitive to those sharing their heart, and open to the Spirit of God leading and guiding them to respond.
  • Pray against the attacks of Satan who would want to discourage and destroy their joy and excitement in participating in what God is doing in Cazale.
  • Pray God’s love and power would flow through them and they would be full of faith and confidence that God is able.
  • Pray for those in RHFH leadership to shepherd them well, helping them set attainable goals, praying with them, and equipping them to make disciples.
