My name is Rezius Marlene. I am the mother of three children, and I am writing today to thank you for helping save my son’s life.

My son, Kenlove, is 5 years old. Without your support, I truly believe he would not be alive today. After God, it is because of your generosity that my son was given another chance to live.

Kenlove began complaining often about stomach pain, especially when it was time to go to school. At first, I thought he was simply trying to avoid going to school. But the pain did not go away. In July, his condition became much worse. He would lie down and cry because of the pain, and his stomach began to swell.

I took him to a nearby hospital, where the doctors gave him medicine, but it did not help. Instead, his condition continued to get worse.

Because I had received prenatal care at Real Hope for Haiti (RHFH), I knew I could bring Kenlove there for help. I decided to take him to the clinic. On the way, he fainted in my arms. I was scared and did not know what would happen. By God’s grace, we made it to the clinic.

When the medical team saw how sick Kenlove was, they acted quickly. They gave him emergency care and arranged for him to be taken to Sainte-Camille Hospital. When we arrived, Kenlove was in critical condition and had to be placed on oxygen.

After several tests, the doctors told me that his appendix had burst and that he needed emergency surgery.

We spent 17 days in the hospital. After the surgery, Kenlove had complications and had to be taken back to surgery again. It was one of the hardest times I have ever faced as a mother.

Through it all, RHFH continued to support us. They paid for everything Kenlove needed, including transportation, doctor visits, tests, medicines, and surgery. I did not have to pay anything.

After we left the hospital, we returned to RHFH for follow-up care. The team continued to care for Kenlove, providing his dressings, medicines, and the support he needed as he recovered.

When I made the decision to bring Kenlove to the clinic, I had no money. His father was not there to help me. I felt alone and afraid, but God placed RHFH in our path at the right time.

Because of you, my son received the care he needed.

Today, Kenlove is healthy. He goes to school. He smiles. He plays and enjoys life like a normal 5-year-old boy.

I often think about what might have happened if I had waited another day. If I had tried to find money before seeking care, I believe I could have lost my son.

Your support gave Kenlove a chance to live.

Thank you will never be enough to express how grateful I am. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with us when we had nothing. You helped save my child’s life. You gave him a future, and you gave our family hope.
