Community Work Day

by: Lori Last June, the community group planted lots of flamboyant trees along a 1.5 mile stretch of road. Today, some of the group started at one end and weeded around the trees a bit.  There was thorn bushes, vines, and other weeds growing around them and hindering their growth.

Trees from USAID Grant

The community group received 1722 mango, 1000 citrus, 1000 avocado, and 290 coconut trees through the WINNER/USAID project in the area.  This was an in-kind grant of  $10,546 US.  This is a huge benefit for many farmers around here.  These are large and healthy seedlings that we will be distributing around
